Hello, this is Janne. So, tips for sofa or couch work. The sciatic nerve starts from lumbar level four up to sacral level three - that is the biggest and widest nerve in our system. In the back area it goes to our sacral plexus, and that is a tight space in the anterior part of the sacrum where the nerve roots go, and after that it goes underneath the glutes, down the back of the thigh, continuing downwards into the thigh, and in the distal third it splits into smaller branches that go to the leg area. If you irritate the nerve, typical symptoms are tingling, numbness, or a kind of restless feeling when walking in the leg.
So what do you want to do? Put a pillow in there, place that over there, lie on your back, then make this big enough so you don't need to support your neck with muscles. I've placed a few extra pillows here, so it's a good laptop stand - shoulders are relaxed, use an external mouse, and it should be quite good to go. If you start feeling tingling or numbness in the lower legs, place this underneath your legs, and you should be good to go.
The best part of working in that kind of posture is the angle of the webcam.
